A Couple's Portrait

This portrait was for a widow's 90th birthday.  The portrait was done in a stylized creation from old photographs.  The widow no longer has any old pictures of her and her (now deceased) husband together in one photo, but still kept very old photos of her as a young single lady, and her husband as a young single man; therefore these two separate photos were put together into a single portrait.

The technique used was egg tempera and 24k gold leaf on wood panel (size: 18" x 24").
