        The Department of Special Collections at the O'Shaughnessy-Frey Library houses the University of Saint Thomas Libraries' collection of rare books and manuscripts, as well as, the University Archives. Special Collections also host the Adrian Brewer paintings collection.  A well known prolific portrait and landscape painter who received special attention for his impressionist style of work.  Adrian Brewer was born in St. Paul, Minnesota; he was raised between St. Paul and New York City.

        The oil on canvas/panel paintings from the Special Collections are portraits: archbishops and reverends and landscapes. They are located in the Special Collections department, Archbishop’s Apartment, President’s House, and many other spaces in the campus.
