Dan Tarnoveanu is the founder of Renaissance Art, Restoration & Architecture in the United States and has been in business for over 20 years. Dan is the company’s architect, artist and art conservator. He received his master’s degree in Architecture from the University of Architecture Ion Mincu Bucharest, Romania in 1977 and a master’s degree and license in religious art and art conservation from the Romanian Orthodox Patriarchate Art Commission, Bucharest, Romania in 1985.
Dan's career is a blend of architecture, historic preservation, and art. He has 30 years of experience in preservation and architectural work internationally.
His professional background includes employment with Proiect Galati (architectural and engineering firm) Galati, Romania, where he was involved in architectural design, urban planning and historic preservation projects for religious institutions, commercial buildings and private homes. Later he joined the Romanian Orthodox Patriarchate, where he participated in the restoration of one of the most important historic landmarks in Romania: Cozia Monastery, Byzantine style complex built in 1386.
In U.S.A., since 1987, the majority of his time has been spent on restoration of interiors of historic buildings, paintings and icons. Dan's years of hands-on experience in historic preservation and art conservation in the United States proved him to be an expert in the field. Dan received numerous awards for his work. He serves as a consultant and art conservator for private and government institutions.
