PORTRAIT OF A COUPLE

Portrait of a Couple was designed and executed by RARA for the family of a private art collector in Gilbert, Arizona, to commemorate the couple’s wedding anniversary.

The painting technique is egg tempera and 24K gold leaf on gessoed watercolor paper. The binding media is egg yolk. Before painting, a brilliant white ground was applied to the watercolor paper. This ground reflects light through the semi-transparent applications of paint. The style is linear, with flat geometric areas of paint. The background is gilded with 24K gold leaf.
